How to Get a Job in Korea within 5 Months

I’ll share with you my experience of being really blessed in my job hunt.

And to add toppings to the dessert, it’s a non-teaching job.

The reason why I say I’m really blessed is because I’ve heard how really difficult it is for a foreigner to find a job in South Korea. Especially one holding a language D4 visa, to be locally hired.

But I’m still playing the waiting game with the Immigration office i.e. it has been 2 months since the visa application and I’m still waiting. I guess Mr. Officer is really busy. He looked really swarmed when I finally went for the face to face interview 2 weeks ago. I’ll continue to pray hard.

Then I’ll continue with this post when everything is confirmed.

God bless.

Time for a change

Ok, so I have decided that I need a change to this blog. It was too dark and gloomy previously that I didn’t feel like writing. I am also shifting all my personal stuff to dayre, so I guess this space will be more of sharing information and good tips that might be helpful to remember for use later on. 🙂

1st Month Eve

Hi! Today marks the eve of my 1st month in Korea.

Time passes by so fast! I have been really lazy to write my experiences here. Partly because of the homework I was given. I have always thought that those who said they were overwhelmed by homework on their blogs of coming here to study language is largely exaggerated. Well, it’s not really. Either that or I have been trying t0o hard to impress, keep using vocabulary I haven’t learned. This is actually bad for exams but I can’t be bothered now.

I got in to the semi-finals for the 17th International Foreigners’ Speech Contest! (A miracle because my Korean level kind of suck and the topic I have written was quite dumb) But I can’t memorize no shit off my speech. It could be age or the homework coupled with the imminent exams but I am all ready to give up now T.T So here’s next week lesson schedule:

1) Mon – Presentation on Survey Results “외국어를 공부했어요?”

2) Tues – Audition of the Speech Contest (must memorize script by then)

3) Wed to Fri – Mid-term test.

To top things off, I have Taekwondo lessons every Mon and Thurs and Modern Korean lecture after class every Tues. Wow, brain-fried. I guess I haven’t been focusing enough, like what my bf harshly lectured me on – I am not here to do homework, I want to find a job here but what have I done to achieve that? Nothing really. It’s so difficult to establish network here when I am not meeting enough Koreans. And… getting sick of learning the language. Haha.

Anyway, I will get some pictures up tomorrow cuz I am really more than exhausted now. Like my school during the cherry blossoms period, the Yeouido sightseeing, food I have eaten, etc.

Weather is getting warmer these days, so is my body. So heaty I am spitting out thick phlegm with blood streaks.

Honey, salt, food and everything I need is always within reach at home. Always readily available. But now I have to buy everything by myself from pot and pans to all cooking ingredients. It’s no easy feat since I have never lived on my own before but I got so sick of eating convenient food or those red soups that I have decided to cook by myself! My mum heard it and went “Ha ha ha”. Yes, I know I don’t even touch the knife in Singapore but I have no choice here but to do everything by myself T.T

So Goodnight and watch out for more photos to come!
